<p>I worked at Arise Academy this past year with City Year. It was without a doubt my favorite job I've had. I became very experienced in teaching and forming relationships with the students through hands-on activities such as a chess group, theatre group, and science experiments. This year I began to get into my flow as not only a teacher but a mentor to my students. I believe now that I have the experience I need which is why I did Americorps. My students at Arise faced very real and difficult problems that constantly needed to be assessed with the right kind of patience before moving onto activities. I am willing to invest that energy and would be a great fit for many classrooms because of my diverse skills and my drive to work with whatever challenges come my way.&nbsp;</p>
