In 2005 created a webpage which showed the after effects of Hurricane Katrina on Google Maps. Utilizing the Google Maps APi along with MySQl database was able to show where the businesses were opening up in the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina was gone. This led to numerous other Google Maps Mashup Projects which earned me Media Publicity as can be seen in following links:

Quoted in Forbes magazine article “The Google Industrial Complex” on the use of Google Maps. https://www.forbes.com/forbes/2006/1016/108.html#40559b1d7c2c

Quoted in The Huffington Post article – “Protests In Libya, Bahrain Visualized Using Twitter, Google Maps” https://www.huffpost.com/entry/middle-east-north-africa-protests_n_826 101

Map Making Mania:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/map-making-mania/article1063427/
