I am a digital fabrication specialist, educator and creative currently living in Long Beach, California with the intention of relocating to New Orleans in the immediate to be proximal to family. I am currently the Associate Director for the School of Art at California State University Long Beach as well as a tenured Associate Professor where I directly assist in managing a large campus population of approximately 1800 students, 40 full time faculty, and 100 part time faculty. I hold several administrative and leadership titles/roles, value creativity and systematic organizational strategy and management. I currently specialize in teaching beginning and advanced digital fabrication technologies like 3D printing, 3D scanning, CNC machining, and laser cutting to college students. I have conceptualized, designed, implemented and managed two digital fabrication labs for open student use. While I currently prepare college students for careers in design and fabrication, I have also built, implemented, taught, and executed STEM based curriculum for K-12 students in school and non-profit institutions. I am also a skilled fabricator who is trained in traditional wood/metal tools as well as casting processes and have worked at numerous museums and public institutions in installation conception, design, fabrication, and maintenance. I have organized public events such as the SIGGRAPH Art Gallery and SIGGRAPH Studio, both hands-on experiential spaces for 16,000 international participants at one of the largest and oldest computer graphics conference in the world. Through all of my roles, I have gained the experience to manage both large and small teams, work with directly with contractors, execute designs, create curriculum, develop hands on educational experiences, and promote creative systematic success strategies across numerous projects. I am interested in shifting career trajectories and become part of an exciting new team and to continue learning and building new skills while lending my own expertise in any given applicable field and looking forward to working with a new team of creative people. I hold a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Electronic Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The Ohio State University in Art and Technology.
