JeffCare, a program of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority, is a Federally Qualified Health Center with two sites in East Jefferson and West Jefferson. This position requires no on-call, evening or weekend work, offers a generous benefits package, and is located in the greater New Orleans metropolitan area in Metairie.

Responsibilities
- Leads the medical assistant staff in the daily implementation of patient care plans and workflows that meet state and federal requirements and metrics
- Monitors staff compliance in real time with Medical Assistant workflow
- Coaches, mentors, and trains direct report staff; assesses staff competencies; provides continuous performance management, and conducts employee performance evaluations. addresses performance issues, clarifying expectations and providing feedback
- Supports staff growth and development; assesses staff's educational, clinical experience, and communication needs in collaboration with the individual
- Collaborates with RN Supervisor to create and implement ideas for education, including clinical performance and effective communication
- Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff; provides orientation on job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment
- Delegates, assigns, and coordinates work, ensuring an efficient workflow that achieves the departmental mission and objectives
- Collaborates with management in the clinic to plan patient care delivery to address patient needs effectively and ensure quality patient care
- Reviews processes related to daily implementation of patient care and assignments
- Evaluates adherence to process and works with staff on process improvement solutions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid nursing license (LPN)
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- Basic life support/CPR training preferred
- High ethical standards and personal integrity
- Proven experience as a Nursing Supervisor or similar role
- Experience in medication administration, including injections
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Calm, professional attitude during stressful situations and interactions
- High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality
- Good multitasking skills
- Good listening, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Good memory and concentration skills
- Excellent judgement
- Strong initiative and patience
- Ability to communicate well with patients, physicians, and other staff in verbal and written form
- One year of experience in documenting information in an electronic health record and verifying insurance benefits
- Experience working in primary care and behavioral health provider’s office is a plus
- Ability to work with colleagues to provide care in a culturally competent way and consistently treat all with dignity and respect
