General Description
The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts's Academic Program and Arts program is an innovative teaching and learning environment dedicated to the intellectual growth of young artists. It has consistently been rated as an "A" school by the State of Louisiana. NOCCA is the State of Louisiana's Conservatory for the Arts, serving high school students from across the state.
The English Language Learner Teacher/ Interventionist works with faculty and staff to provide instruction and support to students. They work closely with grade-level teachers, arts departments, the Special Education Coordinator, and staff to ensure students' needs are met in both academic and arts classrooms. This position has the role of working with English Language learners and with exceptional students needing small group or individual support in their general education structured classrooms.
NOCCA Educators must value diversity, model integrity, foster equity and demonstrate high ethical standards. As leaders and colleagues, staff must demonstrate positive interactions and relationships with parents, faculty, administration, and staff.
Delivers instruction that advances student learning.
Complies with NOCCA policies and procedures, meeting required deadlines and participating in required meetings.
Certification as an English Language Learning Teacher.
Experience in a high school setting.
Experience and/or professional commitment to creating a high-quality learning atmosphere for a diverse group of students at all levels
Developing , writing, and managing IEP and /or 504 plans for students requiring extra suppport
Demonstrated interest in the arts.
Self-directed curriculum development.
Team teaching or other sustained collaborative experience.
Additional hours are required for Orientation, Open Studio, Auditions, Grade Nights, Parent/ Teacher Conferences, Senior Saturday, Homecoming Events, Graduation, Celebrations, Parent Night, Student Shows and Presentations, and Professional Development Days.

This is a position is eligible for the Teacher's Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL) or Louisiana Employment Retirement System (LASERs). This position will be a social security withholding position.
