Job Description
Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Upturn Arts is currently seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support our Executive and Program Directors in managing administrative tasks related to our summer programs in visual and performing arts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the onboarding and compliance of new and returning employees
- Coordinate seasonal contracts, LOAs, and payroll for program staff
- Create and distribute weekly newsletters
- Manage camp photos and videos
- Supervise day-to-day camp operations and registration
- Perform light bookkeeping duties
- Assist with outreach, events, and marketing initiatives
Additional Duties Include:
- Providing administrative support such as drafting reports, creating PowerPoint presentations, composing correspondence, and updating databases and websites
- Communicating effectively with board members, staff, volunteers, and families
- Overseeing committees, volunteers, and interns
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, QuickBooks, Adobe Sign, and Canva.
This part-time position requires 20-30 hours per week at a rate of $15-20 per hour. The ideal candidate should be able to start on or around April 29 and be available to work from May 20 to August 9, 2024, approximately from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday to Friday. Upturn Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers fun and creative programs for children in the New Orleans community to explore their artistic abilities and build confidence in themselves. We believe in providing arts enrichment opportunities for all children, never turning students away due to financial restraints. Upturn Arts provides summer, holiday and after-school programming at our main location in NOLA Spaces in Central City. We hire working artists in the fields of dance, theater, music and visual arts as our teaching artists, bring in guest artists to showcase their craft and cultural importance in New Orleans, and bring students on field trips to expose them to the various artistic, musical and cultural spaces in our city.
