Job Description
TIME FRAME: ALL JAZZ FESTIVAL EVENT DAYS
April 25 to May 5, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain the dressing room trailers for performers at the assigned stage. This position requires a professional individual who remains composed under pressure, is not easily flustered, and does not become star-struck. Autographs or photographs with performers are not permitted as part of this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Morning Tasks:
- Affix dressing room signs to the doors of trailers each morning. If signs are missing, promptly notify the Talent-Event Administrator for replacement.
- Conduct an inventory of supply boxes and promptly report any missing items to the team.
- Receive soft drinks, ice, and water from the Stage Drinks crew in the morning, storing them securely in the provided lockbox along with other supplies.
- Ensure functioning air-conditioning and toilets, and replenish paper and towels in the bathrooms as needed throughout the day.
During the Show:
- Upon the Artist's arrival, contact Hospitality Dispatch to arrange for the delivery of advanced hospitality items. After the group departs, coordinate with Hospitality Dispatch to collect coffee urns, ice chests, and any reusable items, assisting with area cleanup alongside the Hospitality crew.
- Facilitate communication with Bands and Management to address and resolve any hospitality requests or issues. Direct all questions or concerns regarding catering and hospitality needs to the Talent-Event Administrator or Hospitality Dispatch.
- Maintain control of all trailer keys, ensuring trailers are securely locked while Artists are onstage.
- Receive staff lunch deliveries for all production staff on the stage, including stage personnel, backstage crew, and any artist meals.
- Assist with tidying as necessary during room turnovers, with the Fair Clean-up crew responsible for floor mopping. Notify Dressing Rooms Operations if extensive cleaning of floors or bathrooms is required in the mornings.
- Report any problems with cleaning supplies, plumbing, or electrical issues to Dressing Room Operations.
Post-Event:
- Participate in the breakdown and cleaning of trailers, conducting a thorough inventory of all decorations, and packing all items for storage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
- Must attend and complete any required training.
- Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
- Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with festival staff.
- Strong budgeting and shopping skills are necessary, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production environment while working extended hours.
- While not mandatory, familiarity with basic carpentry tools and sewing is preferred.
Pay: $200/day
