We’re hiring for the role of:

R & D Associate

Play a critical role in activating a dynamic and pioneering initiative to create a new communal operating system equipped to explore, investigate and experiment in dreaming up the future of Jewish expression for the Jewish people, and the world. Through building a national R&D operation, we will surface new ideas and support creatives and entrepreneurs to elevate new forms of Jewish life to improve our society and all of us as learners and experiencers of life. 

The R&D Associate (aka Chief Activator), working in close coordination with the Chief R&D Officer, will support the launch and growth of this strategic priority. This will involve a wide range of evolving functions in designing an R&D operating system at The Jim Joseph Foundation, one of the largest and most influential philanthropic foundations in the Jewish communal space, housed in San Francisco, with an R&D outpost based in New Orleans. 

Here’s what you’d be doing:

Research, Data Compilation & Landscape Mapping 

Managing the collection of demographic information and trends 

Analysis & Strategy 

Crunching data and synthesizing insights

Network Creation

Developing new, strategic networks 

Project Support

3+ years of work experience 

Fluency with data management tools 

Strategic thinker

Self-starter, highly motivated and independent worker

Excellent communicator

Project management experience

Bachelors (required) 

No experience in Jewish professional work required!
