Milestones Mental Health Agency is hiring provisionally licensed social workers (CSW, LMSW) and counselors (PLPC) to join our team! We provide community-based and telehealth mental health services to children and adolescents.

AGENCY DESCRIPTION:

For the past two decades, Milestones has been providing community-based mental health services to children/adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders in the Greater New Orleans area (Orleans and Jefferson).

Our services include assessments, treatment planning, counseling, skills building, crisis mitigation services and medication management. We are CARF accredited, and licensed by the Dept. of Health and Hospitals.

Services are Medicaid-funded and are primarily provided in the schools, but are also delivered in other community locations, as well as via telehealth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our provisionally licensed mental health professionals provide counseling, skills building and crisis mitigation services.

The majority of the work includes services in which the client is present. The 40 hours per week consist of 23 hours that include the client, and 17 hours that do not include the client. The services that do not include the client consist of activities such as, but not limited to, phone calls, travel time, supervision, trainings, written work and coordination with other involved child-serving agencies.

Our in-person services can take place at schools, client homes and pre-approved community locations. We take the safety of our staff very seriously, and are mindful about the locations we deliver services in. In situations where school is not an option, and the client home is not safe, another community location will be identified (such as a library, park or other pre-approved community location).

As to telehealth, our counseling services can be delivered via telehealth if the client is interested in telehealth and responding well to it. But, our social skills training can only be delivered in-person. Most of our clients receive both services which includes a mix of telehealth and in-person. If a client refuses in-person services, we can deliver 100% telehealth to that client, but this is rare and not encouraged.

MHP's are responsible for developing and managing their own schedules/appointments. In addition, each clinician is required to coordinate services with other involved child-serving agencies.

Paid training and supervision is provided to all of our staff (initial and ongoing). Although we are a small agency employing less than 25 people, we offer benefits and a salary to our employees because we value our staff,and care about their overall health and financial security.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Reside in Orleans or Jefferson Parish

* Reliable transportation

* PLPC, LMSW or CSW provisional license

* Counseling experience (graduate level internship experience does count)

* Strong organizational skills needed for scheduling and meeting deadlines

* Pass a Criminal background check and drug test

* Access to a computer to enter progress notes into EHR from off-site

* Able to participate in an on-call crisis rotation to deliver phone assistance to Milestones clients during a crisis

* Able to attend group supervision/staffing every other Friday from 9:30-10:30 via Zoom

* Able to return calls to agency staff and clients within 2 hours during business hours (30 min when on-call)

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

* CSW, LMSW, PLPC - $48,000 plus $40 per additional billable hour that exceeds the weekly required hours

* $5,000 raise upon full licensure (LCSW/LPC)
