Job Description
About Prospect New Orleans
Prospect New Orleans is a citywide contemporary art triennial that showcases the work of diverse artists in a variety of public spaces, cultural institutions, and independent venues across New Orleans. We are dedicated to engaging the local community and visitors from around the world through thought-provoking exhibitions, events, and educational programs. Our sixth iteration of the exhibition: Prospect.6: The Future Is Present, The Harbinger Is Home will take place in New Orleans from November 2, 2025 - February 2, 2025.
Job Description
Prospect New Orleans is in search of Programming Assistants to support Prospect’s programs during the 2024-2025 triennial season. Core responsibilities will be supporting set up and break-down of venues, managing guests and check-in tables, gathering and organizing materials, and supporting Prospect’s Program Director and Programs and Audience Engagement Manager with event responsibilities. Applicants who are detail oriented, efficient, and energetic, and interested in the New Orleans arts community are encouraged to apply.
P.6 Program Assistants will report to the P.6 Programming Team, and other Prospect staff as needed.
Competitive candidates will be flexible, creative, and ready to support with a smile. While we will consider candidates from other communities, having a background in art and New Orleans is important. The ability to work independently and yet with a sense of responsibility to colleagues and sensitivity to overall organizational and programmatic goals is crucial.
This position is part-time and will at times necessitate flexible hours that may include occasional evenings and weekends. During the Prospect.6 exhibition (11/2/2024 – 2/2/2025), Program Assistants should be available to work the hours prior, during, and after events during Opening weekend, durational programming, and closing weekend events, in alignment with the open hours of the exhibition and the reality of most programming taking place on weekends.
Program Assistants will join a small team of devoted professionals with diverse professional and life experiences. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, experienced, have a strong eye for detail, and broad fluency with the New Orleans art ecosystem and contemporary art or programming in general.

Prospect is excited to welcome interested applicants to email their resume, a brief statement about why they are interested in the role to kalea@prospectneworleans.org and denise@prospectneworleans.org. Thank you for your interest in Prospect, and we look forward to meeting you!

About Prospect New Orleans
Prospect New Orleans was conceived in the tradition of international exhibitions, such as the Venice Biennale and the Bienal de São Paulo, to showcase artistic practices from around the world in settings throughout the city with an emphasis on site-specificity. Prospect invites residents and visitors to celebrate art and artists as intrinsic to the local landscape and to experience New Orleans as they never have before.
Prospect is a citywide contemporary art triennial, formalized in 2008 and now in its sixth iteration, P.6.
