Job Description
Avondale Global Gateway is a 274-acre former shipyard on Mile 108 of the Mississippi River, redeveloped into a multimodal logistics terminal with significant warehousing and storage capabilities. T. Parker Host acquired Avondale in 2018 from Huntington Ingalls Industries and has since reestablished its iconic prominence into a model of ingenuity. Avondale Global Gateway is a historic property with four docks and over one mile of waterfront, uniquely accommodating ships, barges, rail and trucks. This facility offers immediate access to the regional and interstate highway system and is positioned at the interchange of six Class I railroads, creating the ability for cargo to be distributed in all directions.
Avondale Global Gateway has become integral to HOST’s continued efforts of shifting the transportation paradigm and rethinking how cargo moves – providing exceptional service and solutions to our customers.
Position Summary: This outside sales role is responsible for increasing sales by developing, pursuing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads and maintaining relationships with existing customers. The successful individual may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market such as warehousing, project cargoes etc.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
End-to-end management, execution, and closing of sales
Develop leads, ultimately leading to valid sales opportunities and realized revenue, based on corporate defined strategies and goals
Generate, locate, create, and maintain complete and accurate sales records and opportunities, utilizing Net Suite
Work with customers to define scope & options for sales
Identify and clarify any uncertainties, liabilities, or shortcomings of opportunities
Conduct appropriate due diligence to validate leads and opportunities
Determine transportation and market rates utilizing competitive analysis and market intelligence
Work with analysts assigned to opportunities
Draft term sheet offers/proposals for approval as needed
Negotiation of terms & conditions with customers
Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers, to grow revenue and Follow-up with customers throughout pre-negotiation and negotiations
Clear communication, internally and externally, of any potential limitations or deviation from requests with customers, and escalate as needed
Send approved Term Sheet/Proposal/Indication to customers
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:
· Undergraduate degree in business, or relevant discipline, highly preferred
· Minimum five years of sales, warehousing and storage, freight forwarding, third party logistics, project cargo or a combination thereof
· Knowledge of product storage, equipment requirements, and physical logistics surrounding commodities
· Proven experience executing a successful sales process/strategy within the storage/warehousing industry
· Proven track record of achievement, meeting and exceeding sales targets and metrics
· Demonstrated ability to close sales, while exhibiting marked, quantifiable, growth
· Confident and experienced conducting cold calls and visits, turning new business from both cold and warm leads
· Understanding of account economics and insights; knowledge of financial issues, operations, economic contribution, working capital movements, and performance
· Innovative self-starter, with the ability to devise solutions to complex problems, and to implement those solutions hands-on
· Flexibility, and the ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture; comfortable operating in a limited-resource environment, with a high degree of autonomy
· Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills, excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills

· Must be willing and able to travel, including internationally (up to 70%), and available to work extended hours when required to complete projects on time
