Job Description
Under the general guidance of the Director of Human Resource Management, the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition and Development is responsible for overseeing talent recruiting and acquisition, managing talent operations, and directing talent engagement and development. The Assistant Director oversees the full life-cycle of employment, ensuring that the right talent is attracted to our campus, professionally developed and supported throughout their career with a goal of long-term retention to create a competitive advantage for LSUHSC New Orleans. The Assistant Director manages the day-to-day personnel operations, i.e. directing and overseeing all PeopleSoft operations and data entry as to personnel (talent) actions/changes, new hire packet entry, and other operational functions of the university. This position develops internal and external metrics to evaluate the value of operational services provided, support internal and external audits, and ensure timely resolution of nightly maintenance issues. The position will work collaboratively with HR leadership and stakeholder leadership to streamline and integrate HR processes to provide quality service to our campus. The Assistant Director administers employee engagement, professional development and performance management programs campus-wide for classified, unclassified and faculty. This position oversees all activities, processes, procedures, policies and events that surround overall talent acquisition on our campus to include, but not be limited to, recruitment events, New Employee Orientation, succession planning, employee engagement events, campus rewards and recognition program, learning experiences, leadership communications and HR campus liaison activities. The position will have a high degree of stakeholder interaction, relationship development with all levels of leadership from schools/divisions, and work closely with all HR internal units, Chief of Staff, VCAF departments, and Louisiana State Civil Service. This position leads the talent acquisition and development team by hiring and training assigned staff; identifies and resolves performance issues; provides appropriate leadership and direction and promotes positive morale, creativity and teamwork among staff; evaluates employee performance and sets clear goals and expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration or related field AND at least five (5) years' Human Resources experience
OR
• At least a Bachelor's Degree in another field of study AND at least eight (8) years’ relevant experience
