Job Description
Job Title: Client Service Advisor - Rigby Financial Group
Location: On-site, Remote or Hybrid
Department: Client Service Advisory Team
Reports To: Senior Tax Accountant
Rigby Financial Group, a Virtual CFO firm for privately owned companies, wants to ask you some questions.
Do you love your work environment? Are you working overtime and enjoying it? Are you tired of feeling like you just fight fires and check boxes on work programs? Are you overworked, underappreciated and underpaid?
Would you like to be well paid and be appreciated for the quality work that you do?
Our company principal, Eric Rigby, is an alumnus of Ernst and Young and through his own personal experience, he got tired quickly of the Big 4 environment of working overtime, nights and weekends and in a stressful environment, and decided to create a boutique firm that provided a work-life balance for himself and his team members by only working with clients we enjoy and can help.
We currently have one opportunity, a Client Service Advisor. This is a full-time position, but with no overtime, no nights, no weekends, great benefits, a talented team to work with, and a flexible work environment in which you will have meaningful client interaction, providing a highly personalized service to our high-end clients! This position can be remote, hybrid or on-site or a combination thereof.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, high fact finder, with exceptionally good follow-through, who has good interpersonal and written communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This person will be a self-motivated QuickBooks specialist to join our Client Service Advisory team. This role will primarily focus on managing day-to-day accounting functions, specifically utilizing QuickBooks to track clients’ financial transactions, reconcile their bank statements and credit cards, and make adjusting journal entries. In addition, this person will help us with processing corporate and individual tax returns. Depending on experience, you may also assist in the preparation of tax returns. While a CPA or accounting degree is not required, expertise in QuickBooks and experience in an accounting or finance role is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- QuickBooks Management: Utilize QuickBooks online to maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly coded and categorized.
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Download and review statements from banks and credit card companies, reconciling the bank accounts and credit cards with QuickBooks to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for and categorized.
- Journal Entries: Prepare adjusting journal entries to QuickBooks, ensuring proper classification of all transactions in alignment with tax basis accounting. This would include recording payroll, depreciation expense, and other journal entries reflected in the bank or credit card transactions.
- Communication: Serve as the first contact person with the client and act as a liaison between RFG middle management and the client; ensuring clear, concise, and effective regular communication with the client and notifying management as issues arise.
- Technology Proficiency: Leverage QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Teams, and other financial tools and software to streamline accounting processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and support the overall efficiency of the client service advisory function.
- Follow-through: Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and follow up on any outstanding issues to ensure resolution. Adhere to client plans and budgets.
What you will bring to the role:
- Must have at least 2 years of proven expertise with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop versions). Experience providing clients with financial statements and trial balances.
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is required.
- Ability to independently manage and reconcile bank and credit card statements, review and analyze the transactions, and categorize them correctly in QuickBooks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and can explain financial matters to non-accounting team members.
- A team player that has a passion for meaningful interaction with others – both clients and fellow team members.
- Are extremely customer service oriented.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation.
- Ability to learn and use artificial intelligence technology in the application of accounting and financial statement preparation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to follow through and meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with other financial, tax, and accounting software would be considered a bonus.
What you can count on us for:
Money is about so much more than numbers. It is personal and emotional. We take the time to get to know our clients and their business on a personal level, because we know how important it is to understand the big picture and give them the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their financial security and legacy are being taken care of. We live our core values each and every day!
- We Care (first and foremost about our team and we help our clients)
- “Wow” (we try to provide phenomenal service to our clients)
- Creative Solutions to Their Problems (solving complex problems by bringing mindfulness, empathy and being wholly present when communicating to our clients)
- Growth (working with like-minded, growth-oriented entrepreneurial clients)
- Humility Combined with Confidence (to continually improve by doing the right thing and with honesty and encouragement)
Joining Rigby Financial Group as a Client Service Advisor offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the firm's success and work alongside a dedicated team of professions. If you are motivated with a passion for client service, we courage you to apply with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience with Quickbooks, and why you are a great fit for this role.
