Gambel Communications is seeking a public relations professional to join our client services team. The Communication Strategist is responsible for managing all aspects of communications consulting services for a roster of clients, including media and communication relations, social media and special events. He/she will develop communication strategies with measurable objectives to advance clients’ goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Coordinate day-to-day account service and strategic direction for each assigned client

· Plan and direct PR programs to create and maintain a favorable public image for the client

· Act as a thought leader, continuously helping to clarify client’s point of view and brand to target audiences

· Create and deliver press releases and other media relations content, case studies, white papers, bios, newsletter, etc.

· Identify, develop and execute custom pitches for key media contacts to secure earned coverage

· Research media coverage and industry trends to develop fresh story ideas and angles

· Conduct extensive media outreach and follow up to maximize earned media coverage

· Prepare briefing materials and facilitate press interviews and courtesy community meetings

· Create and plan special events appropriate to client’s goals and budget

· Create social media content and campaigns

· Monitor and interpret social media analytics and report out on data to the client

· Plan and deliver educational workshops and materials to promote the firm’s capabilities and assist clients

​Qualifications:

• At least three years of experience in public relations agency or in-house; compensation is commensurate with experience
• Strong media relationships (editorial side) in the Greater New Orleans area and beyond
• Familiarity with social media strategies and online community engagement
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
