Your Role as a School-Based OT:

You’ll work with students in their natural learning environments — classrooms, resource rooms, and school therapy spaces — collaborating with teachers and staff to build motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills that support learning success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct school-based assessments (sensory, motor, and functional skills)
• Write IEP-based treatment plans and goals
• Deliver hands-on OT services in classrooms or therapy rooms
• Coach teachers on integrating OT strategies into daily routines
• Communicate regularly with parents, school teams, and caregivers
• Monitor progress and maintain documentation per IDEA/FAPE guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
• Create engaging, goal-oriented activities tailored to student needs
• Maintain a safe and organized therapy space and materials
• Promote inclusion, independence, and self-confidence in students

Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Louisiana OT license (or eligibility)
• Passion for working with children in school settings
• Experience with sensory processing, fine motor delays, ADHD, or autism
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Organized, dependable, and adaptable in school environments
