Job Description
Location: In-person, New Orleans (Uptown)
Team: Operations
Type: Full-Time
Estimated Start Date: August 2025
Who We Are
Handle is a fast-growing, Y Combinator-backed startup that’s changing how money moves in the $1.5 trillion U.S. construction industry. Our software helps material suppliers and contractors simplify complex finance processes like online payments and lien management - which have historically been slow, manual, and full of friction.
Today, Fortune 500 companies trust Handle to help them move faster and get paid more reliably. We’ve raised over $30M from American Express, Suffolk Technologies, and others - and we’re just getting started.
We're building a world-class team of people who care about doing meaningful work, solving real problems, and growing together. If that sounds like your kind of place, read on.
About the Role
The Document Filing Administrator is a key member of our Operations team. You’ll be responsible for making sure lien documents are filed quickly, accurately, and successfully with recording offices across the U.S.
These filings are critical to our customers’ ability to get paid, and you’ll be one of the people who makes that happen. Whether it's preparing and tracking documents, troubleshooting issues, or communicating updates to the team, you’ll play an essential role in making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.
This is an in-person role in our New Orleans Uptown office, Monday through Friday. You’ll be part of a hardworking, mission-driven team that’s building something new and meaningful together.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and submit property lien documents to county recording offices across the U.S.
- Track the status of filings and follow up on any delays, errors, or rejections
- Troubleshoot and resolve filing issues with speed and care
- Communicate clearly and proactively with internal teams about document status
- Maintain high standards for accuracy, detail, and timeliness in every task
- Look for ways to improve existing processes and contribute to overall operations success
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You enjoy working in a fast-moving environment where your work matters every day
- You’re process-oriented and always looking for a better, faster way to do things
- You take ownership of your work and are quick to jump in when problems arise
- You’re organized and detail-obsessed - you like getting it right the first time
- You’re comfortable working with software systems and a fast learner at picking up new tools quickly
- You’re a strong communicator and know how to keep people in the loop
- You’re collaborative, curious, and always open to learning something new
Bonus Points
- Experience working with local or municipal offices, document preparation, legal paperwork, etc.
- Familiarity with mechanics liens or legal documentation is a plus, but not required
- Prior work in an operations, fulfillment, legal ops, or in a construction-related industry
Why You’ll Love Working at Handle
- Equity & Ownership: Get in early at a fast-growing company solving real-world problems and have equity
- Healthcare Benefits include competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance policies
- Paid Parental Leave: because your family matters
- Unlimited PTO: We trust you to take the time you need (and we actually use it!)
- 12 Paid Company Holidays
- Well-Equipped Office: Modern, collaborative space in Uptown New Orleans
- Mission-Driven Team: Join a team with smart, caring people working hard to make a difference
We’re looking for team members who are passionate, capable, and ready to grow. Join us and help make getting paid in construction faster, fairer, and easier for everyone.
