Job Description
V.I. Communications is a leading provider of communications technology, systems, and services in Louisiana. The company has designed and built data and technology infrastructure for over 28 years including network cabling infrastructure and low voltage systems.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts of our low voltage and structured cabling solutions, particularly within the industrial and oil/gas industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical sales, a good understanding of network cabling infrastructure and/or low voltage systems, and experience building relationships within the industrial and petrochemical sectors. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and developing new business opportunities in the Gulf Coast region while building a high-performing sales team.
Essential Functions
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives, focusing on low voltage solutions for the industrial and petrochemical clients.
- Lead Generation & Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets. Develop relationships with potential clients and maintain strong partnerships with existing ones.
- Client Management: Manage key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Act as the main point of contact for client inquiries, project coordination, and after-sales support.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a sales team. Provide guidance, set performance goals, and ensure that targets are met or exceeded.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Use this knowledge to adapt sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
- Technical Expertise: Collaborate with engineering and project teams to provide clients with technical expertise and tailored solutions that meet their unique requirements.
- Contract Negotiation & Closing: Lead contract negotiations and secure profitable deals. Ensure all terms and conditions meet company standards and client expectations.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates to senior management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of 5+ years in B2B sales, with at least 3 years in low voltage, industrial, oil/gas, or related fields.
- Demonstrated analytical, technical problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with audiovisual, access control and surveillance camera solutions and/or network & fiber optic cabling solutions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting and/or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Must be able to work alone or with a team.
- High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and self-motivation.
- Experience in contract negotiation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and industry events as required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required based on experience).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary from $55,000 to $85,000 based on experience + competitive sales commission structure
