Job Description
The city of New Orleans Human Services dept. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Services Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the delivery of social services programs, ensuring that our clients receive the support and resources they need to thrive. This role involves supervising a team of social workers, managing caseloads, and collaborating with other professionals to address the diverse needs of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of social workers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the delivery of social services programs, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Manage caseloads and prioritize client needs, ensuring that services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as counselors, psychologists, and healthcare providers, to address the complex needs of our clients.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our social services programs.
- Monitor program outcomes and make adjustments as needed to ensure that client needs are being met.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in the field of social services, and integrate this knowledge into program development and implementation.
- Represent the organization in meetings with community partners, funders, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.*
- Three (3) years of professional experience in the field of Social Work, Social Welfare or Public Health.
