Job Description

Summary of Job Position

The Communications internship will prepare students for working in marketing and public relations for nonprofits. Interns work 15-20 hours per week, and will receive a stipend of $2000 per semester.

The primary focus of the KID smART internship is on social media management, encompassing a variety of activities, including but not limited to:

Generating innovative ideas for social media content and campaigns that align with our marketing goals

Writing and editing engaging social media copy

Ideating and filming reels

Assisting with the creation of eye-catching graphics and visibility materials

Managing and updating contact lists for press, events, and collaborations

Tracking and reporting on social media analytics and other relevant data

Supporting virtual and in-person workshops, classes, fundraisers, and other events

Researching and sharing tools and trends to boost social media engagement and effectiveness

Ideal KID smART candidates are:

  • Trend-savvy: Passionate about social media, staying updated on trends, and envisioning their application in an arts non-profit setting
  • Creative: Bring fresh, joyful, and impactful ideas to the table
  • Risk-takers: Not afraid to try new things and take innovative approaches
  • Organized: Manage time well and prioritize a multitude of tasks
  • Resourceful: Take initiative in problem-solving, working independently and proactively
  • Collaborative: Work well with others, managing multiple projects with colleagues while communicating with purpose and humor
  • Technically proficient: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Mailchimp and Squarespace preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with social media management and content development
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Analytic, writing and editing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Interest in public education and the arts as a way of transforming learning
  • Interns must have the ability to travel to the job site and schools as needed.
