Son of a Saint is searching for an energetic, detailed, proactive, and solution-oriented professional to join the organization’s growing team.

Primary Role:

The Grants Manager will manage Son of a Saint’s robust and growing pipeline of current and new grants. The Grants Manager will lead the research, writing and submission of grant proposals, grant reports, Letters of Intent, and overall management of grants to support Son of a Saint’s fundraising and outreach goals. This position reports directly to the Development Director and is a member of the Development Staff.

Specific responsibilities include:

Grant Management and Tracking

• Track grant proposal and reporting deadlines and funding statues in NEON
• Report out on grants submitted, won, and pending on a regular basis
• Coordinate with Program Team, Finance Team, and Development Team to ensure quality and accurate proposals and reports
• Keep consistent records of proposals, grant award letters, grant agreements, and other grant-related documentation
• Coordinate with Program Team, Finance Team, and Development Team to ensure timely and appropriate expenditure of grant funds

Writing

• Craft quality written proposals and reports
• Create donor-facing written documents such as case statements, participant success stories, and concept papers, as needed
• Draft email and snail mail communication to foundations, as needed

Grant-Related Research

• Proactively research new foundation prospects and new grant opportunities
• Maintain an active pipeline of new potential funders
• Keep up with the latest trends in foundation giving and provide regular updates to the Development team

Reports To: Director of Development

Skills and Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree
• 3 years minimum of grant writing experience
• Experience with federal and state grants a plus
• Proven ability to manage projects independently
• Proactive and consistent work ethic
• Professional demeanor and conduct
• Basic understanding of fundraising operations, strategy, communication, and landscape
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to analyze written materials, and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and within a diverse Development team and across various functional areas.
• Commitment to Son of a Saint’s mission and vision.
