Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide support for the instructional program within an assigned classroom and/or school setting, including but not limited to:
- Work with individual or small groups of students to assist in academic and social development
- Communicate with administrators, teachers and parents in evaluating student progress and/or implementing student learning objectives
- Implement instructional lessons as needed
- Maintain classroom equipment for instructional purposes
- Collect and utilize student data, as directed, to support student growth
- Develop and maintain a safe and caring classroom and school environment
Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment AND one of the following:
- Two years of college (60 hours) OR Associates Degree OR the ability to achieve minimum test score on District or State assessment, OR three satisfactory evaluations in a para- educator role
- Job related experience is preferred
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to transfer to other sites based on District needs
