We are a local landscape architecture firm looking for the right candidate with experience in accounting, payroll, budgeting, and excellent customer service to join our team. To be successful in this role, you must be a highly organized multi-tasker who can work collaboratively and carry out projects independently.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

·         Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

·         Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

·         Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.

·         Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.

·         Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

·         Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

·         Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.

·         Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

·         Analyzes job profitability and crew profitability. Provide financial and analytical guidance in strategic decision making.

·         Preparing financial statements

·         Month-end & year-end close

·         Working closely with external auditors during year-end close

·         Overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, 401-k, and health insurance.

·         Tax reporting

·         Maintaining accounting functions in Quickbooks including: Recording vendor invoices and processing invoices for payment, preparing and sending bills to customers, managing vendor and customer accounts and relationships, making bank deposits, and maintenance of vendor contracts

·         Monthly Reconciliation of credit card statements, reconciliation of bank account, etc.

·         Coordinate and maintain all business licenses and certifications renewals.

·         Review vendor statements for accuracy and prepare and record all vendor checks to ensure timely payments to vendors.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Lively, creative, and casual office environment. Work hours are 40 hours/week (Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm OR 8:00am-5:00pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.)

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

·         Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance

·         Experience with financial reporting requirements

·         Supervisory experience a plus

·         Tax experience a plus

·         Strong Excel skills required

·         Quickbooks experience required
