JeffCare, a program of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority, is a Federally Qualified Health Center with two sites in Metairie and Marrero. This position requires no on-call, evening or weekend work, offers a generous benefits package, and is located in the greater New Orleans metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Supervise, perform and monitor direct care nursing services, including having direct reports
• Document and conduct planning and performance evaluations of supervisees
• Receive providers’ instructions regarding patient care and ensure care is provided by nursing staff as ordered
• Oversee delegation of nursing care and assist in maintaining patient care standards by directing and monitoring activities of supervisees
• Provide direct care as needed in the absence of subordinate professional staff
• Serve as a collaborative resource for services ordered by providers
• Participate in interviewing and screening potential nursing staff applicants
• Monitor and maintain supplies and inventory

Qualifications & Skills

• Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus three years of professional nursing experience (preferably in a primary care and/or behavioral health setting)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred
• At least three years experience in a primary care and/or a behavioral health setting
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Organized and detail-oriented work style
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to work effectively at different levels with different audiences
• Ability to provide care in a culturally competent way and consistently treat all with dignity and respect
