Job Description

ROLE: Production Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Entertainment and Stage Production TERM: Event staff for the day before the event, all four (4) days of the event – April 15-19, 2026 (Wed-Sun). Expect event days to involve long hours and physical, on your feet, outdoor labor.

BENEFITS: This opportunity for those interested in gaining hands-on experience in large-scale live event production and/or stage production. This experiential learning offers free parking if needed at the FQFI offices in the French Quarter any and all days working in-person with us. Meals provided on festival production & event days only.

BROAD DESCRIPTION: Work with the entertainment and stage production coordinator, as well as stage managers and production & operations crews to ensure a successful event, set up for the event, support stages and stage crews by making sure they have everything they need, drive golf cart and give rides to musicians and help them with their gear when needed. Great communication, troubleshooting skills, teamwork and ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment are necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates can demonstrate experience, and willingness to grow, in the following;

EXPECTATIONS: All Production Assistants/Crew/Staff are expected to act in a kind and professional manner at all times. All FQFI Programming is family-oriented and rooted in respect for our fans and stakeholders including crew, volunteers, vendors, musicians, sponsors, and neighbors. During the Event, Production Assistants must be comfortable communicating via handheld radio, lifting up to 30lbs, and interacting with the public. Production Assistants will be required to report and document incidents if observed during production. If driving a festival-golf cart, Production Assistants will be required to have a valid driver’s license on their person at all times.

● PRE-FESTIVAL: Attend Stage Production Meeting, Thursday, April 2, noon -1:15 pm, in person or via Google Meet.

● LOAD-IN/SET UP: The day before French Quarter Festival, production assistants work in the field, assisting with event set-up, prepping backstage areas, and directional signs, and ensuring that the festival site is ready for the event.

● DURING FESTIVAL: 4/16/25 - 4/19/25, approx. 8AM - 9PM (will vary). See broad description above.

● LOAD OUT/WRAP UP: Pick up signage, equipment, and supplies from stages and all festival sites and bring back to FQFI offices. Begin reporting and post-event partnership engagement process. Debrief and wrap notes.
