This position can be located at either our Beaumont, Texas OR our Conroe, Texas office location.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Senior Manager Grid is accountable for providing leadership, direction, management and oversight for the activities within the Transmission Lines and Substation Grid organization. This includes providing a safe work environment to perform all required inspection and maintenance tasks, outage and failure response and management, capital project execution for blanket projects under $250K and support and commissioning of new lines and equipment to be energized and maintained as a transmission line or substation asset.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides leadership, management and oversight for transmission line and substation field operations, including safety, regulatory compliance, equipment inspections and maintenance, capital project management and support, contract management, workgroup direction, and configuration management.
  2. Accountable for tracking and controlling the execution of the capital and maintenance budget for the Grid which includes planning, scheduling and completing maintenance and capital work to meet all project goals safely, achieve critical milestones and accomplish required levels of customer satisfaction.
  3. Manage the supervision of engineers, operations coordinators, substation and relay craft personnel, supervisors, managers and support staff including coaching, training, employee development, and effective resource management.
  4. Responds to regulatory compliance issues in terms of managing compliance requirements; supports efforts related to regulatory requests from FERC, NERC, SERC and other regulatory bodies. Ensures configuration management processes are followed and evaluates enhancement opportunities.
  5. Interface with supporting organizations including engineering, finance, asset planning, customer service managers, operations centers, environmental management, substation engineering, etc.
  6. Lead and participate on teams to address various jurisdictional and system objectives such as improvement projects, regulatory filings, safety projects, cost control efforts, reliability improvement, and labor management.
