POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Intern that is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. The candidate will assist with developing a financial framework for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing IT spend. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to vendor management, contract analysis, and technology budgeting while working closely with the IT Vendor Relationship Manager and Contracts & Licensing Specialist.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, charts)
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus
  • Interest in IT, software licensing, or vendor management
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Basic typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable to new technologies and new situations
  • Strong desire to learn and improve your skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in building a comprehensive IT spend framework that aligns with departmental and organizational financial goals
  • Collect, analyze, and categorize IT expenses across software, hardware, cloud services, and professional services
  • Partner with the Contracts & Licensing Specialist to review agreements for cost, renewal terms, and spend commitments
  • Help develop reporting templates and dashboards for spend visibility, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support vendor performance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance transparency and accountability in IT procurement
  • Prepare documentation and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
