Job Description

Student Intern Job Description:

Job Duties/Responsibilities: Working in a team environment to learn controls and assist Project Controls Specialist and/or Project Controls Manager in day-to-day activities including but not limited to:

  • Learn and support in the various disciplines of project management and controls by applying fundamental schedule and cost control techniques.
  • Learn and support in the development and maintenance of project schedules, plans, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Learn to identify, analyze and document project schedule and cost variances between planned and earned/actual progress and conclude on possible impacts.
  • Learn and support with analysis of contractor schedule data to identify key project issues, verify contractor progress, and review their performance trends; support Project Admin and Accounting in review of contractor’s invoices.
  • Collaborates with the project controls specialist/manager, project managers, and other project team members to identify, characterize, and document project risks in a risk register and develops mitigation plans in accordance with the Standards.

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Project Management or Construction Management during their employment as an intern.
  • Minimum Classification: Candidates must be classified as a sophomore or beyond.
  • Cumulative GPA of a 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale).
