JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
As a key member of Entergy’s New Generation PMO, this role drives the successful delivery of large-scale projects—often exceeding $1B—with a strong focus on heavy haul activities critical to project execution. The position ensures alignment with PMO standards while championing safety, quality, and risk management. You will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to implement robust project management best practices and deliver cost and schedule certainty. This role is pivotal in supporting the transportation and delivery of major equipment and materials across assigned sites, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational requirements.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a strategic leader within the New Generation PMO, ensuring projects adhere to Entergy’s Stage Gate process and PMO governance.
- Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan (PEP), integrating heavy haul logistics into overall project planning and execution.
- Coordinate with project teams and contractors to manage transportation and delivery of large components, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Provide data and input into project controls for scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality, with special attention to heavy haul milestones.
- Act as Owner’s Representative or Contract Manager, ensuring contractual compliance and timely communication with vendors and contractors.
- Monitor contractor performance on safety, schedule, and quality, particularly during heavy haul operations.
- Provide clear, timely project status updates and presentations to leadership.
- Deliver projects with cost and schedule certainty while mitigating risks associated with heavy haul activities.
- Ensure safe execution of all work, embedding safety requirements into contracts and project plans.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience. Preferred: Advanced Degree Preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Project Manager, Sr - CP: 4 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field
- Project Manager, Sr Lead - CP: 6 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Expert in project and construction management fundamentals.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to power generation and utilities.
- History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace.
- Strong understanding of heavy haul operations and associated safety protocols
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management applications, processes, software and equipment.
- Understanding of Industry Best Practices.
- Demonstrated cross-functional project leadership experience, team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Preferred: PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
Work Location Flexibility (Hybrid)
This position is temporarily designated as Hybrid and includes a mixture of activities that can be performed virtually and activities that are better suited to being in person in collaboration with others. Flexibility to telecommute from an Approved Telecommuting Location a high percentage of the time. Designated Work Location will be an Entergy Office Location. Residence must be within daily commuting distance of Designated Work Location. #LI-NC1
