Job Description

Gain experience and exposure to practical engineering applications within the utility industry. Individual normally works under close supervision and will perform a variety of functions and work on various projects, working with engineers and engineering associates

Job Description: Assist full design personnel in the following activities:

  • Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
  • Design electric distribution facilities and perform various engineering studies using computer based systems.
  • Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Customers.
  • Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
  • Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

Education requirements:

  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering majors to work full time during the designated semesters
  • Must be currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree or beyond as indicated above
  • Preferred: Sophmore, Junior, and Senior candidates.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale)

Job Requirements

  • Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have good communication and Customer Service skills.

Work Conditions: Office and Field work. Some situations might require ability to work in adverse climate conditions and physical nature of work may require walking long distances in uneven off-road environments. Some travel may be necessary. #LI-KG1

Additional Responsibilities: As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
