Job Description

The Operations Manager I, reporting directly to the Director of Tulane Bands, serves as a trusted advisor on all departmental matters, while overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the department. This role manages all budgetary matters, including overseeing both restricted and unrestricted ledgers in the departmental budget, forecasting expenditures, and advising the Director on financial decisions. The Operations Manager supervises staff and student employees, handles administrative elements of recruitment and training, and manages purchasing and records. They coordinate with the SLA Dean's office on all administrative matters including facilities, financial needs, and marketing and communications. They coordinate events and programs as needed, and process payments and reimbursements. Additionally, the Operations Manager will provide student advising where appropriate, communicates program information, and acts as the primary liaison to department leadership and other university academic and administrative units, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to university policies and procedures.

Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years administrative, financial and personnel management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in an academic setting, working with students, faculty, and other members of the university community.
  • Previous Managerial experience preferred
