Job Description

The Executive Director of Communications and Marketing innovates, leads, and advances the school’s communication efforts in a manner aligned with the school’s mission and strategic priorities, both internally and externally. The Executive Director drives innovation and leadership across internal and external marketing and communications efforts, overseeing brand strategy, market positioning, strategic communications, and growth initiatives.

The Marketing Leader directs the school’s marketing and communications team to execute integrated strategies that elevate the school’s reputation, support academic clinical and research excellence, and foster strategic partnerships. The role collaborates closely with key administrative, clinical, and research units to ensure alignment and impact. Partners with the school’s Business Development leader to advance growth and partnership opportunities. This position serves on boards and committees within the school where branding, marketing, and communications play a role, as well as at the university level such as the University Communications Council and the Academic Communications Committee.

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of marketing, communications, and brand strategy experience in healthcare or higher education, including demonstrated experience leading marketing and communications functions
  • Proven experience with strategic brand development, market positioning, and business development initiatives
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels and constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare marketing, medical education, or academic medical center communications
  • Proven track record of business development and strategic partnership development
  • Experience with thought leadership positioning and industry relations
  • Experience working within clinical and research-intensive environments
