  • 7+ years of experience
  • PE required. In lieu of PE, 2 additional years of experience required
  • \$106,000- \$165,000 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)

Associate Staff Engineer-

  • 12+ years of experience
  • PE Required. In lieu of PE, 2 additional years of experience
  • \$124,000- \$193,000 - Commensurate (dependent on experience, education, and qualifications)

Your Role: Senior or Associate Staff Protection & Control Engineer

We are open to remote but do prefer in office. Our office is located in Duluth, GA. If you are open to relocation please let us know!

What You’ll Do
  • Identify appropriate protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution substations
  • Select protection devices and ensure proper equipment sizing and material procurement
  • Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and drawing packages (wiring diagrams, schematics, protection panels, one‑lines, three‑lines)
  • Perform load calculations for panels, battery systems, voltage drop, and other substation components
  • Ensure adherence to client standards and industry regulations related to relay protection
  • Provide field support and conduct pre‑inspections for turnkey substation projects
  • Interface with clients and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine design and construction processes

Associate Staff Engineers are expected to demonstrate deeper technical leadership, broader project ownership, and increased mentorship responsibilities.

What You Bring
🎓 Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • In lieu of PE: +2 years of additional experience
📊 Experience
  • Senior Engineer: 7+ years in protection & control design within utilities or the energy sector
  • Associate Staff Engineer: 12+ years in protection & control design within utilities or the energy sector
  • Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE 80/998
💡 Skills
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, automation, relay settings, RTU configuration, and P&C engineering concepts
  • Experience in the electric utility industry
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
