POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Numerical Control Operator with preferably at least 2 years of directly related experience in a similar position. The candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of metal fabrication equipment used for bending and cutting materials to detailed specifications for the construction of vessels, barges, and other marine structures. The ideal candidate should have experience in operating metal fabrication equipment and be familiar with standard marine practices and construction specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in a similar position preferred
  • Familiarity with standard marine practices and construction specifications
  • In-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques
  • Familiarity with hand tools used for machine setup

SKILLS

  • Strong mechanical skills and understanding of metal fabrication processes
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining metal fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Attention to detail and precision in work
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with other team members
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to metal fabrication

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate metal fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
  • Read and interpret construction drawings or other guidance documents
  • Bend and cut materials to detailed specifications
  • Ensure adherence to standard marine practices and general construction specifications
  • Use hand tools for machine setup, including clamps and blades
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures
