Your Role: Experienced Protection and Control Engineer

We are open to remote but do prefer in office. Our office is located in Duluth, GA. If you are open to relocation please let us know!

What You’ll Do
  • Identify appropriate protection and control schemes for transmission and distribution substations.
  • Select protection devices and ensure proper equipment sizing and material procurement.
  • Prepare scopes of work, estimates, and drawing packages including wiring diagrams, schematics, protection panels, one-line, and three-line diagrams.
  • Perform load calculations for panels, battery systems, voltage drop, and other substation components.
  • Ensure adherence to client standards and industry regulations related to relay protection.
  • Provide field support and conduct pre-inspections for turnkey substation projects involving protection panels, breakers, transformers, control houses, and supporting equipment.
  • Interface with clients and vendors to ensure project alignment and technical accuracy.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to revise and maintain design/construction scope processes.
What You Bring

🎓 Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
  • FE required for both levels (or +2 years experience in lieu of FE)
  • PE preferred for Engineer IV

📊 Experience

  • Engineer III: 3+ years of experience in protection and control design within the utilities or energy industry
  • Engineer IV: 5+ years of experience with demonstrated technical depth and project leadership
  • Experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE 80/998

💡 Skills:

  • Knowledge of SCADA, automation, relay settings, RTU configuration, and protection & control engineering concepts.
  • Experience in the electric utility industry.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
