*This is an onsite role, based in the Metro New Orleans area.* *This position can be filled as a Remittance Associate I, II, or Sr. based on the candidate’s qualifications*

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE The Remittance Associate is responsible for providing face-to-face customer service at the Entergy New Orleans Customer Care Centers, which includes directly interacting with customers, handling payments and receipts, and ensuring accurate processing of all incoming payments, while also supporting the daily operations of the Customer Care Center, assisting with special projects, serving as a records management custodian, and being willing to assume a storm restoration role if necessary. The role requires strong cash handling skills, the ability to utilize the CCS automated system, and a focus on satisfying customer needs and maintaining productivity goals through collaboration with other departments.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong cash handling skills, which includes close out and balance of cash drawer on a daily basis. Must learn and/or be knowledgeable of CCS automated system and serve as backup to Customer Contact Reps (Customer Service Associates) when needed. Must process customers' payment accurately in order to ensure proper credits and debits to accounts and preventing customer complaints due to errors. Must be willing to assume a storm restoration role and travel if necessary.
  • Review account information and assist customers with basic account needs such as account number retrieval, reconnect amounts, and account balance.
  • Perform afternoon check-ins and verify cash banks are accurate for other team members.
  • Learn, be familiar with and/or assist with daily operations of the Customer Care Center, including but not limited to, monitoring and stocking office supplies, preparing conference rooms for meetings, and other tasks as assigned by department leadership.
  • Provides assistance for special projects as directed by the department leadership.
  • Records Management Custodian responsibilities including file maintenance, reporting and compliance to internal and regulatory required records retention policies including support of SOX testing.
  • Interface with other departments and employees to satisfy customers' needs and complaints while maintaining department's productivity goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Remittance Associate I - 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Remittance Associate II - 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Remittance Associate Sr – 4-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Preferred: 2 years of cash handling experience, which includes responsibility for oversight of cash handling operations for multiple employees.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, Entergy Corporate applications (& Time and Labor).
  • Learn and/or become familiar with CCS.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral with internal and external customers.
  • Willing to work extended hours as needed.
  • Self-starter with high initiative, willingness to learn new processes.
  • Excellent multitasking and team work mentality a must.
  • Possess excellent decision making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with challenging customers.
