Job Description

JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY: Wealth Planning Strategists are responsible for developing, delivering, and implementing advanced wealth strategies to high net worth and business owner clients. Wealth Planning strategists are also required to support the delivery of all advice and planning capabilities enterprise wide.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide wealth planning advice to clients and prospective clients within Private Wealth Management utilizing the One Wealth client engagement model.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Advisors to understand client goals and objectives. Gather data necessary to analyze client information, and deliver financial advice based on client needs.
  • Develop advanced wealth planning engagements within available planning platforms.
  • Deliver recommendations to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients in the areas of retirement planning, risk management, insurance planning, estate planning, tax planning, business exit planning, and wealth transfer strategies.
  • Responsible for developing and presenting business exit plan strategies as needed.
  • Train Wealth advisors on how to illustrate planning strategies utilizing advanced wealth planning platforms and reports.
  • Assist with business development and marketing activities to promote advanced wealth planning, adoption and utilization within the organization.
  • Support the development of wealth planning deliverables and external marketing.
  • Responsible for assisting advisors with financial plan tracking and reporting.
  • Assist with the development, enhancement, configuration, and testing of wealth planning processes and systems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 6 years of experience in financial planning, trust & estate planning, financial services, or equivalent experience required.
  • At least one of the following certifications required: CFP, CPA, CLU, CFA, JD, LLM, MS in Taxation, ChFC, CBEC, or CExP.
  • Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65), and Life/Health Licenses for the states where business is conducted are preferred.
  • Knowledge of estate, investment, and financial planning strategies for affluent and high net worth clients.
  • Proficient use of financial planning software.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
