Job Description

The Supervisor of Transmission and Distribution Line Engineering is responsible for overseeing a large team responsible for the engineering, design, development, implementation, and analysis of power systems and may include civil/structural distribution and transmission engineering and design. They are responsible for the direct supervision, project oversight and mentoring of Designers and Engineers. The Supervisor is required to conduct regular ongoing interface with the client at their offices and via teleconference and occasionally in the field at job walks and site visits. The Supervisor recommends, reviews, and provides quality assurance checks to engineering and design development and deliverables to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Using client standards, the Supervisor oversees teams that prepare construction work packages for implementation of recommended remediation measures, including preparation of drawings and creating material lists and many times will be the engineer of record on the project.

  • Direct supervision, project oversight and mentoring of Designers, Engineers and Team Leads.
  • Oversees the teams developing project engineering, design and construction deliverables including plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials, stringing charts, pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and other construction drawings.
  • Creates engineering and design project guidelines and criteria.
  • Provides quality assurance and quality checks for project engineering deliverables developed internally or by third parties.
  • Provides construction support including responding to project RFI's throughout the project life cycle.
  • Regularly interfaces with the client to ensure projects are completed to the client’s satisfaction, on time and under budget.
  • Hires new team members.
  • Forms and leads new teams for new projects, programs, clients, etc
  • Oversee new hire onboarding and training, conduct ongoing technical team trainings
  • Coordinate with internal Project Management Organization to execute and deliver projects and manage project change
  • Develop tools and processes to improve team efficiency, technical quality, and client satisfaction
  • Develops proposals and work breakdown structure cost estimates for new projects in coordination with Business Development's & Leadership's strategic goals

  • Salary Range: \$129,483 - \$202,015
  • Profit-Sharing Bonus: Semi-annual, performance-based (10% to 20% of salary)
