Job Description

Under the direction of the Program Director of the LSU Health Science Center-School of Public Tobacco Control Initiative (TCI), the Program Assistant will provide support to program managers, field staff, and other team members that are working towards TCI’s mission.

The incumbent shall be responsible for coordinating and maintaining information flow for all program related projects, activities, and personnel. This shall include:

  • Coordinating communication among the program team, affiliated entities, program participants, vendors, contractors, and other collaborators, via calendar management, phone calls, and email correspondence.
  • Assisting with scheduling meetings, seminars, and workshops, including preparing agendas, summative minutes and final evaluative reports.
  • Coordinating all program administrative functions to improve quality and efficiency, including purchasing and cataloging expenditures, assisting with tracking and managing deadlines, arranging travel and completing related forms, updating Curriculum Vitae and Biosketches, and updating program websites and social media to promote program services.

This position requires anticipating needs, thinking critically, and offering solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position does not involve developing, implementing, or managing public health programs. This position is eligible for remote work per Chancellor’s Memorandum-73 and School of Public Health Policies.
