About the Role We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating the overall field execution of infrastructure construction projects across multiple geographic locations, including Mississippi, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. This role serves as the on-site leader and primary point of contact for field operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contract requirements, schedules, and quality standards. The position requires regular travel to active infrastructure project sites and flexibility to support projects across multiple states. The Traveling Superintendent plays a critical role in maintaining consistency in execution, safety culture, and operational excellence across RNGD’s infrastructure portfolio.

Core Responsibilities

Field Leadership and Project Execution

  • Create cost efficiencies through process improvement and effective field planning
  • Support and drive utilization of RNGD initiatives, systems, and field technologies
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each project through immersion in contract documents, plans, and specifications
  • Establish and direct field execution strategies related to scheduling, logistics, manpower planning, and work sequencing
  • Provide consistent on-site leadership across multiple projects while traveling between active jobsites
  • Ensure efficient jobsite closeout and timely turnover of project facilities to owners and stakeholders

Construction Oversight

  • Lead field execution of infrastructure work, including earthwork, utilities, drainage, concrete structures, roadway, and civil systems
  • Coordinate and facilitate subcontractor startup meetings to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, safety, and quality expectations
  • Monitor production and field performance, adjusting strategies to maintain schedule and budget objectives
  • Ensure compliance with approved work plans, inspection requirements, and quality standards

Field Operations and Safety

  • Partner with the Field Safety Team to manage and reinforce the jobsite safety program
  • Identify, correct, and report unsafe behaviors or hazardous conditions
  • Ensure adherence to all safety plans, JSAs, competent person requirements, and regulatory standards

Documentation and Reporting

  • Log, track, and process required project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, safety documentation, inspections, and work plans
  • Analyze reports on project performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Report progress toward established performance targets and key project metrics

Team Development and Client Management

  • Coach, develop, and retain a high-performance project team
  • Uphold brand standards and reinforce the company’s core values and manifesto, leading by example
  • Proactively manage client, employee, and subcontractor experiences to ensure satisfaction
  • Actively participate in industry associations to represent and promote the company

Financial and Risk Management

  • Proactively monitor project financial performance, identifying risks early and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Ensure efficient workflows and effective use of enabling technologies
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce rework, and enhance overall project outcomes
  • Analyze project risks and implement mitigation strategies early

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of field leadership experience in civil or infrastructure construction environments
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure projects requiring consistent on-site supervision
  • Strong understanding of civil construction processes, sequencing, and systems
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong team morale
  • Ability to travel regularly and work on active construction jobsites
