Job Description

This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.

This posting can be filled as a Safety Specialist II - Safety Specialist Senior depending on qualifications.

Job Summary/Purpose Supports Utility Operations in the management of developing safety training programs, strategy, presentations, workshops, communications, policy, and rules.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work with Jurisdictional Safety Team to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and the creation of new programs from analyzing audit, observation, and assessment information and consistent system-wide application of safety processes and procedures across the Jurisdiction.
  • Supports the contract workforce, including, but not limited to:
    • Investigate Contractor Incidents and Safety related issues on Entergy System.
    • Perform Field Observations to assure compliance of OSHA Regulations and Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures.
    • Assist Contractor Safety Department during Accident Investigations.
    • Support Contractor Training of Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures.
  • Supports the contract workforce, including, but not limited to:

  • Must be familiar with and have the ability to interpret OSHA regulations and provide guidance to management on the proper application of these regulations in the workplace.
