Job Description

$25.00 per hour

TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

March 30 - May 15, 2026 (FULL TIME)

In-person interviews will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the installation of scaffolding as required for staging at the Festival.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follow the guidance of the Steel Krewe Supervisor to install staging, scaffolding towers, and ramps, ensuring adherence to OSHA safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinate the distribution of steel for stage installations.
  • Efficiently dismantle and consolidate all materials for the move-out process.

Requirements:

  • Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Finance Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Give any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival (and, therefore, belonging to the Jazz Festival) to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
  • Attend and complete any required training.
  • Complete all required Feedback Forms and Final Reports.
  • Must attend and complete any required training.
  • Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Preferably possess construction experience.
  • Extensive experience with scaffolding is essential.
  • Capable of heavy lifting and maintaining stamina.
  • Able to endure long hours in a dynamic, high-pressure production environment and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
