About Lafitte Greenway Partnership

Map Pin IconOrleans ParishCompany Profile

Lafitte Greenway Partnership (LGP) is a community-driven nonprofit that builds, programs, and promotes the Lafitte Greenway as a great public space. Our vision is a healthy and vibrant Greenway that connects people to nature, their destinations, and each other.

LGP was formed in early 2006 by New Orleans community members who saw an opportunity to rethink their community’s landscape to enhance livability, environmental sustainability, open space equity, health, and revitalization. In November 2015, the Lafitte Greenway opened as a 2.6 mile pedestrian and bike path and linear park, connecting French Quarter, Treme, Lafitte, Midcity, and Bayou St. John.

LGP currently leads a wide range of projects and programs on the Lafitte Greenway, including landscape management, green infrastructure, cultural arts events, programs for children and families, urban planning, economic development, and improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians who use the Greenway.
