Job Description

$17.00 per hour

TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

ALL JAZZ FEST EVENT DAYS

April 23, 24, 25 & April 30, May 1, 2, 3

Mandatory training: Evening of April 21


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be available and able to work all projected dates and times as scheduled by the Presentations & Information Director, including at least one pre-Festival training meeting and the overall Fair Production meeting.
  • Manage an assigned Information Booth, including booth materials, information, and volunteers, for the full duration that public gates are operational each event day (approximately 10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.).
  • Under the direction of the Presentations & Information Director, respond to questions from the general public using provided reference materials (physical and electronic), including maps, food lists, ticket information, and music schedules.
  • Serve as a liaison with Festival security and medical personnel when assisting patrons, as needed.
  • Oversee the receipt, cataloging, and transport of all lost and found items to Information Booth IV for proper storage. Lost and found items must be handled by staff only, not volunteers.
  • Rotate between Information Booth locations as directed to provide coverage during peak times and to allow staff breaks.
  • Manage key storage for ADA-accessible portable toilets, if applicable.
  • Secure all Information Booth reference materials and displays at the conclusion of each Festival day.
  • Daily breakdown and storage of booth materials, including chairs (flattened and stacked), tarps, coolers, and any items susceptible to weather.
  • Supervise all volunteers assigned to Information Booths, including signing volunteers in and out each Festival day.
  • Conduct daily inventory of supplies and communicate any shortages or needs to the Presentations & Information Director.
  • Maintain regular radio communication with the Presentations & Information Director regarding daily operations and questions.
  • Attend required Production Meetings and Training Day seminars to review procedures related to security, dispatch, ADA compliance, and Information Booth operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Prior experience attending or volunteering at the Festival, and general knowledge of the Festival, required.
  • Proficiency with iPad use.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work under adverse and high-stress conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to delegate and supervise a large number of volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Must attend and complete any required training.
  • Any document, computer program, design or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
  • Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports
