Job Description
Overview
The Marketing & Content Manager will advance GNO, Inc.’s reach through creative, audience-first content creation across social media, web, and email. This role owns the day-to-day development and publishing of digital content and executes an integrated marketing outreach strategy. In addition, the role supports other communications functions, including earned media tracking and distribution, collateral creation, and ongoing maintenance of digital tools and platforms.
Bringing strong storytelling instincts and a creative mindset to communications, this position is integral to positioning Greater New Orleans as an attractive business location and elevating GNO, Inc. as a national and regional leader in economic development.
In addition to the specific duties detailed below, GNO, Inc. operates with a cross-functional mentality. It is a job with both significant responsibility and reward and is an opportunity to play an important role in the economic future of the Greater New Orleans region. The Manager will report to GNO, Inc.’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Job Responsibilities
· Develop, draft, and implement creative social media and digital content that highlights the work of GNO, Inc., staff, investors, partners, and the regional business environment
· Lead the creation and maintenance of an integrated content and marketing outreach calendar across social media, websites, and email, ensuring consistent cadence, strong editorial planning, and alignment with organizational priorities
· Generate creative concepts that translate complex topics into clear, engaging narratives for target audiences
· Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop content strategies and campaigns that communicate regional advantages to business prospects while promoting brand narratives and quality-of-life assets
· Create, curate, and manage original content including written posts, photography, graphics, short-form video, and web copy, tailoring content by platform and audience
· Use design software (Canva and Adobe Creative Suite) to design and edit collateral and digital assets including one-pagers, reports, ads, and web graphics
· Deploy content across GNO, Inc. websites (gnoinc.org, startupnola.com, destinationgno.com, and others) using WordPress and custom content management tools
· Attend events to capture and publish content through live posting, photography, video, and post-event storytelling
· Coordinate with partner organizations and investor companies, when appropriate, to execute joint campaigns and amplify content across broader platforms and audiences
· Support communications by developing email content, deploying e-newsletters, and identifying opportunities to grow and engage subscribers
· Track and report on performance across channels (social, web, email), using analytics to test creative approaches, refine content strategy, and improve results over time
· Identify emerging platforms, tools, and digital best practices, recommending strategies to expand reach, engagement, and audience growth
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree and experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field preferred
Experience: 2–5 years of experience creating and publishing digital content, with work samples that demonstrate creative range and results.
Skills, Background, and Capabilities:
The ideal candidate will possess many of these professional and personal abilities and attributes:
• Demonstrated ability to manage a content calendar and deliver consistent output across multiple channels and deadlines
• Proficiency with WordPress, Hubspot, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and related digital tools, with the ability to provide relevant design/content samples
• Strong visual and creative judgment, including comfort producing and selecting imagery, developing templates, and maintaining brand consistency
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external vendors/partners with clarity, courtesy, and tact
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt voice and format across platforms and audiences
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple projects while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
• Works in a team-oriented, goals-driven organization that emphasizes a friendly culture and takes ownership of work responsibilities
• Ability to travel to the 10 Greater New Orleans parishes
