$18.00 per hour


TIME FRAME: This is a short term, seasonal position.

March 30, 2026 - May 8, 2026 (FULL TIME)

Interviews for this position will be held on Saturday, February 21.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Fair Operations Assistant Director, Transportation & Logistics Manager, and Senior Logistics Supervisor, this position supports the planning and execution of all on-site and off-site traffic, transportation, and pedestrian flow operations for the Festival. Responsibilities include assisting with the escorting, staging, and placement of charter buses, school buses, artist vehicles, production vehicles, and festival transportation assets. The role also supports the installation, maintenance, and removal of physical logistics infrastructure required for safe and efficient festival operations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Traffic, Transportation & Crowd Flow

  • Support implementation of approved traffic, transportation, and pedestrian flow plans across Festival grounds and off-site locations.
  • Assist with escorting, staging, and movement of charter buses, school buses, musician vehicles, production trucks, and Festival fleet vehicles.

Installations & Physical Logistics

  • Distribute, install, and maintain logistics infrastructure including barricades, barrels (with sandbags), snow fencing, stanchions, cones, flagging, sand, mojo barriers and signage throughout:

○ Festival site

○ Parking lots and dirt track

○ Infield and perimeter areas

○ Staff shuttle lots

○ Public streets and taxi zones

○ Neighborhood parks

  • Assist with layout, striping, signage, and monitoring of reserved staff parking using approved marking methods.
  • Perform daily inspections of all logistics installations and make adjustments or upgrades as needed.

Signage, Equipment & Specialty Installations

  • Install, monitor, and remove parking and vehicle-directional signage, returning materials to the sign barn after the event.
  • Assist with placement and daily monitoring of Bark-N-Boxes, ensuring proper operation and MP3 updates.
  • Support weather-related infrastructure as directed, including Weather Max System adjustments in coordination with the Chief Meteorologist.

Neighborhood & Community Support

  • Assist with neighborhood installations, including signage, barricades, flagging, and snow fencing.
  • Support distribution of Neighborhood Access Passes as directed by Fair Operations leadership.
  • Respond to neighborhood-related operational issues as assigned.

School Days & Artist Logistics

  • Support School Days bus operations, including unloading, loading, volunteer coordination, and bus lot reset.
  • Assist with placement and movement of musician vehicles backstage and on/off the dirt track.

Equipment, Fuel & Inventory

  • Confirm that all moving stock is properly fueled and in safe working condition each day.
  • Assist with striking all logistics installations at the conclusion of the event.
  • Pack logistics equipment for storage, assist with inventory counts, and return all items to designated storage locations.
  • Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are returned in the same condition as received.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain a daily activity log and schedule.
  • Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the Festival Finance Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
  • Give any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival (and, therefore, belonging to the Jazz Festival) to the Festival through your
  • supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
  • Attend and complete any required training.
  • Complete all required Feedback Forms and Final Reports.
  • Must attend and complete any required training.
  • Perform all other work-related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to install physical equipment such as barricades, barrels, fencing, and signage.
  • Endurance for long hours in a physically demanding, outdoor production environment under various weather conditions.
  • Experience in event logistics, public safety, traffic flow, and parking operations preferred.
  • Heavy equipment certification is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in using basic construction tools such as screw guns, hammers, and saws.
