Job Description
Pet au Pair of New Orleans has been providing dog walks and pet care to clients in the Irish Channel, Lower Garden District, and Uptown areas for 17+ years. We travel to clients' homes and are seeking pet caretakers who live in or near those service areas and want to work. If you long to get outside, love cats and dogs, enjoy the freedom of working independently, and are inherently reliable, we'd love to hear from you!
--We're looking for a dedicated DOG WALKER/PET SITTER who is available for a few hours a day at least 5 days of the 7-day week. Must also be available to help with AM and /or PM pet sits during the week and weekends. Average weekly earnings to start are around $100-$150; more, with pet sits. If you have a serious interest in learning the business and would want to work more, I especially want to talk with you!
Our regular dog walks vary Mon - Fri between 10:00am - 4:30pm, with the bulk of them between 10:00am-2:00pm.
Regular Sat-Sun dog walks are from 10:00a - 12:00.
We do most of our dog sits at 7:30am & 7:00pm for the length of the sit. Cat sits are sprinkled in between.
This is a part-time, long-term, independent-contractor position. Compensation starts at $26/hour (not including travel time). Tips belong to the pet sitter, and raises are provided after a trial period for excellent service.
REQUIREMENTS (non-negotiable):
- At least 21 yrs old and have reliable transportation, valid drivers’ license, and auto insurance.
- Possess a smart phone with ample storage. We use the Time to Pet app in the field as well as another app for team communication.
- Physically able to walk a variety of dogs and work outside in all weather conditions.
- Live in or very near one of our service areas in New Orleans: 70130, 70115, 70125, & 70113 are the closest zip codes. If you live farther away, it will not be worth your time to travel back and forth sometimes 3 times a day.
