Job Description

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain a clean, safe and secure environment of school buildings and grounds, ensuring an attractive and sanitary environment for students, staff and visitors. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare facilities for classroom activities and campus events as well as for daily operations (opening gates, raising flags, opening classrooms, etc.) to ensure facilities are operational and hazard free
  • Perform routine yard maintenance to include grass cutting, weeding and use of weed growth chemicals/preventative as well as flowerbed upkeep and attention
  • Replenish classroom and restroom supplies to ensure adequate daily use quantity
  • Respond to and reports immediate safety or operational concerns including facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc


Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment 
  • Ability to read and write effectively
  • Capacity to learn to operate the various types of equipment in a school
  • Some knowledge of chemical cleaners
  • The know-how to perform minor maintenance functions
  • Experience in waxing and stripping floors PREFERRED
  • Experience in general yard maintenance such as weeding and trimming
