POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Material Specialist with a valid driver's license with the ability to drive company vehicles. The candidate will load, unload, package, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or worksite, including docked vessels.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 6 months of material, warehousing or related field experience preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license with the ability to drive company vehicles

SKILLS

• Able to communicate effectively with all team members.
• Ability to operate a forklift preferred
• Ability to perform basic wood-working
• Knowledge and use of measuring standards (SAE or Metric)
• May travel by land and air to load and outfit material onto docked marine vessels for customers
• Can receive and carry out verbal instructions

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area
• Collects, packages, and clearly labels items or components to be shipped or inventoried using barcodes or manual tracking methods
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
• Categorizes and classifies items being shipped or received
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials received or prepared for shipment
• Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit
• Packages and/or builds crates to contract specifications for shipping and storage
• Operates forklift for material handling
• Performs physical inventories (with or without government representatives)
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining warehouse areas as assigned
• Responsible for performing minor maintenance to the office area and the grounds of the facility
