This position may be filled as an Estimator, I, II, III, or Sr based on the experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Job Summary/Purpose This position provides the estimation, detailed cost analysis, and financial compilations necessary for project evaluation, project authorization, and project management. Estimators work with the Project Managers/Project Team to develop cost estimates for Capital Projects in support of procedural requirements, and for direction, communication, and guidance to Project Managers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Financial analysis including detailed project cost estimation and budget development.
  • Collect and analyze data to estimate the money, materials, labor, and time that a capital project requires, in addition to any associated overhead expenses.
  • Convert project estimates to control budgets in accordance with the applicable code of accounts and work breakdown structure.
  • Analyze cost data, physical progress data, and schedule data to predict the prospective financial performance of the project; prepare annual expenditure budgets; and assess project risk registers to formulate mitigating contingency values as needed.
  • Create reports of detailed estimates and project budgets for nuclear capital projects.
  • Close coordination is required with Superintendents, Project Managers, Contract Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain, Financial Business Partners, Accounting, and Project Controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting of project estimates.
  • Conduct field walkdowns.
  • Perform final analysis during project closeout.
