Job Description
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This position will manage project portfolios supporting electric grid technologies and modernization. Plans, monitors, and manages complex capital projects with multiple dependencies from conception through execution. Manages projects to on-time completion according to specifications and within current budget costs.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead coordination among cross-functional internal teams (business functions / operating companies; information technology; supply chain; regulatory; finance; legal; risk management) and external parties (manufacturers, suppliers, and other potential stakeholders) to develop and deploy grid technologies from concept through execution.
- Provide regulatory team engagement support around grid technology investments that includes responding to questions around various project aspects, costs, risks, and benefits including technical, economic and industry comparisons.
- Formal identification of project risks and issues, and mitigation plans for both.
- Identify critical path workstreams.
- Ensure timely decisions and take prompt action on project issues that could impact project cost, timelines, and/or operating performance.
- Work cross-functionally to address bottlenecks.
- As needed, be able to communicate issues to next level of leadership that are outside the authority or capability to resolve.
- Monitor project budget, and development progress and timelines.
- Provide clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management and external stakeholders, if applicable (e.g., regulators).
- Prepare and provide reports and presentation updates to project sponsors and upper management.
- Implement change management and the implementation of changes with minimal negative impact to the organization.
